Twitter Is Like Crack…

…which is why I’ve avoided it for so long. There’s challenge and fun in composing something only 140 characters long, and for someone who started out as a poet, working line by line, sentence by sentence, the tweet is a dangerous and seductive thing.

At least for now, anyway.

I think it was Tom Robbins who said that at one point he wrote his novels (EVEN COWGIRLS GET THE BLUES, FIERCE INVALIDS BACK FROM HOT CLIMES, etc. etc.) one sentence at a time, on index cards, working them over till he was satisfied with them. I’ve been playing with that and telling a story or ten simultaneously while I’m working on other things.

Enjoy.
